Case Study: Building a Leadership Movement for Women through the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce

The Opportunity
The Chilliwack business community had no dedicated leadership collective focused on supporting, elevating, and connecting women leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, and business owners. While women were leading organizations, building businesses, and contributing significantly to the local economy, there was an opportunity to create a space where they could learn, collaborate, build meaningful relationships, and develop their leadership potential.
The Strategy
Through a strategic partnership with the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, Coralee Grimm and the CEO co-created the Women's Leadership Collective (WLC). Coralee helped establish the vision, leadership framework, strategic pillars, and programming structure that would guide the collective's growth. Together, they developed a sustainable model that focused on four key outcomes:
Leadership Development
Connection & Community
Education & Growth
Visibility & Empowerment
The collective was intentionally designed to be more than a networking group. It became a leadership ecosystem where women could build relationships, access mentorship, learn from industry experts, and gain confidence in their leadership journey.
The Execution
Over five years, Coralee played a leadership role in the planning, development, facilitation, and execution of:
Leadership summits
Workshops
Roundtable discussions
Keynote presentations
Panel discussions
Networking events
Mentorship opportunities
Her approach centered on creating meaningful connections, fostering collaboration, facilitating referrals, and providing platforms for women to share their expertise, stories, and ambitions.
The Results
The Women's Leadership Collective quickly became recognized as one of the region's premier communities for women in leadership and business.
Outcomes included:
Thousands of women engaged through events and programming
Consistently sold-out events and workshops
Increased visibility for women leaders and entrepreneurs
Strong referral and relationship-building networks
A trusted community recognized for leadership development and support
Long-term partnerships and collaborations formed through the collective
Lasting Impact
The Women's Leadership Collective has become more than a series of events—it has become a movement that continues to inspire women to lead with confidence, build stronger businesses, and create meaningful impact within their organizations and communities.
Coralee's Contribution
By combining strategic planning, leadership development, community building, and relationship-centered facilitation, Coralee helped create an environment where women feel seen, supported, connected, and empowered to step into greater leadership.
